what's mine is yours.

welcome!

come on in, pull up a chair, don't be no stranger. grab a cup o' tea and a cupcake. what's mine is yours.

it's been done. I've succumbed to the world that is social networking.
because it's my first post, it might as well be a full-on insightful glimpse into my interesting world. here i go...
I'm a rookie to this whole blog deal, but i ain't no bad speller: the word kaleidoscope is simply the core inspiration to this idea that God's put in my heart. as He and we meet, there's a beautiful, undoable, unforgettable collision (hence COLLIDE-oscope).

the way a kaleidoscope is so cleverly but simply put together; its multiple mirrors reflect the light that enters and a beautiful pattern is formed. something so ordinary can pull off something so extraordinary with a little bit o' light and some triangular mirrors that face in towards each other. genius.
God takes us, ordinary us, and with a wee bit of His goodness, grace and love, the end result is extraordinary: a beautiful, captivating picture that can't be replicated.

this song Like An Avalance from the very new (so new it hasn't been released, new) Hillsong United CD, Aftermath, brought this whole idea of a collision on - the words to the chorus simply go:

I find myself here on my knees again
caught up in Grace like an avalanche
nothing compares to This Love, love, love
burning in my heart

av·a·lanche

[av-uh-lanch, -lahnch] noun, verb

–noun
1. a large mass of snow, ice, etc., detached from a mountain slope and sliding or falling suddenly downward.
2. anything like an avalanche in suddenness and overwhelming quantity: an avalanche of misfortunes; an avalanche of fan mail.

–verb (used without object)
3.to come down in, or like, an avalanche.

when we meet with God, when we collide with Him, He unleashes something. He sends down His Holy Spirit and fire and we can't help but be caught up in it all. we can try run and hide but there's no guarantee we're out of His avalanche's way. not that God piles all this heavy stuff on us; His presence is so overwhelming, so swift and unpredictable and He covers us, lavishes us, and clothes us in a garment of praise, faith, love, generousity and hope, amidst all the chaos and calamity that is an avalanche.

so no running from it, you're bound to be covered with the purity and refreshment that His snow brings one day soon.

better dig up some snow-worthy gears: 5 days away will be the greatest avalanche, elevate summer camp. a whole lotta snow.
